Srinagar, Dec 08 (KNO): Apni Party Senior Vice President Ghulam Hassan Mir on Tuesday stated that his party has committed not to indulge in politics of deceit or promise anything to the people that is not achievable by any means. Addressing a series of party campaign meetings in villages like Sanoor Kalipora, Makhama, Wuhangam, Rathusn and Chewdara falling within DDC elections constituency Rathsun Beerwah, Mir as per a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that Apni Party has not promised anything anywhere in J&K except for holistic development through the current elections. “At a time when other political parties have changed their goalposts as per their past practices, Apni Party stands devoted to its agenda of peace and progress through the route of development,” Mir said. The Apni Party senior vice president advocated for massive participation in DDC polls so as to have a council of grassroot level representatives at district levels who would determine the contours of the developmental programmes as per their requirements. “The end result of these elections is unlike what is being propagated by many regional political parties who compare these polls with some referendum by the people. One fails to understand the audacity of these political parties who think they can still hoodwink the people through their misleading slogans,” Mir averred. He added that DDC elections are purely meant for the development and planning programmes which will be formulated by the grassroots level elected representatives as per the demands of their respective constituencies. Mir expressed gratitude to the people for reposing trust and confidence on the vision and agenda of Apni Party leadership which is manifested by the increasing number of people including political veterans joining this party from across Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing these meetings, Muntazir Mohi-u-Din, Party’s State Secretary and District President Budgam observed that Apni Party is committed to the equitable development of regions and sub regions of Jammu and Kashmir. “In Apni Party, we have a firsthand experience of the difficulties faced by the people living in these rural areas. So if you want that these problems should get redressed, I appeal to you to accord a chance to our contesting candidate who has dedicated his time and energy for the service to humanity,” he appealed. Party’s District President Srinagar Noor Mohammad Sheikh who also addressed these meetings reiterated that Apni Party was formed under the leadership of Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari just to provide a credible political platform to the people in Jammu and Kashmir. “Our Party President believes that people should make politicians accountable for their performance during their tenure in power. So I appeal to the electorate of Rathsuna constituency to give a chance to our candidate and see the results,” Sheikh remarked. On this occasion Er. Rameez Bhat, Apni Party contesting candidate from Rathsuna constituency pledged to work tirelessly for the welfare of people. He said that the main goal of his life is to bring a positive change in the lives of people who have been until now exploited by the politicians for their vested interests—(KNO)
